What had happened was…
Today is Mother’s Day. It will be three years this August that my dear sweet mother left us for the next adventure. Every day I feel her with me, in the house I keep the way she did, the flowers of hers I still tend to and the food she taught me how to cook. To her and all the mothers out there, Happy Mother’s Day.
Okay, so what had happened was I got some much needed rest over the weekend. I honestly did not realize how tired I was until I fell asleep at around five on Friday, woke up briefly to roam the resort a bit, then went back to sleep till eight in the morning. Those who say you can sleep when you die are lying get your rest!
I spent the morning writing the next, and dark, chapter of my next book. I also started another script for Noir Male. It is not one they asked for but one I know they’ll buy for later. I also got one of the scripts they wanted for June finished, I just need to polish it up. I’m actually very happy with what I’ve given them and what they put out.
I’ve actually read some stuff from two budding authors. Their stuff, like mine, needs a little polishing but they show a lot of promise. I expect you’ll be seeing them in your feed very soon. I don’t know if any of you are writers or artists of any kind, but, if you are, keep up at it. We are most critical and protective of our own work, so listen to what people tell you and be willing to share yourself.
Okay, now for other news. A more personal subject. If you read Robby the Cradle or How Robby got his Groove Back, you know I met someone last year. A younger guy, barely old enough to drink. We kept in touch a bit, but lost contact. Over the weekend he showed up at the resort and I got to spend some time with him. Will it progress into something more? I don’t know. I’m not ruling anything out.
As always, a quote, paraphrased from The Greatest Showman.
Take the world and redefine it. Leave behind the narrow minds and see beyond the blinders to what you could be, what we all could be.
