First let me say happy Father’s Day to all the fathers, those who are both father and mother and those who took up the responsibility of being a father. This day is hard, because I lost my father 15 years ago. He never got to see me start my writing career, but I know he’s smiling down with my mother at my accomplishments.

Now that I got emotional and got you crying, here’s what’s going on. I’ve finished editing my second book in the Someone series Someone to Come Home To. Now I have to type them all up then format them for my editor to review. If you’re from the South, I think you’ll like the references in the story. If you work in customer service, you’ll appreciate it too. When the book releases, I’ll go more into the emotional ties I have with it.

Don’t forget to get your copy of Someone to Love. It’s coming close to the release date. Bonita and I will be making more Tiktoks and Instagram and Facebook posts soon.

I did go out last night to relax. I saw a new performer last night. So new they haven’t done their social media yet. To say she was fantastic is an understatement. She was so focused on her performance, she forgot to collect tips. We, the audience, stopped the show when she was done to let her go around and collect her money. She was in tears doing so because she finally felt validated in her art. She really needed this lift up. This is a snip of her performance. Valerie Veeta. Remember that name, I’m sure you’ll see it again someday.

I also got to see this tenure queen. Ebony Would. I died laughing at her performance. She is currently donating all of her tips for the month of June to Charleston 4 Ukraine. She’s not a traditional drag queen and I love her performances.

I bring these two up because its Pride month and both of these Queens reminded me of two important things we should be doing during Pride and every other month. We should be supporting and lifting not only each other and making positive impacts in the community when we can.

This is why I leave you with this from Heather Smalls,
