Hey everyone, I hope you’re enjoying these. I am.
I wanted to introduce you guys to Bonita.

Isn’t she cute? Oh, and don’t let her hear you call her a dog. She will hate you. She is a Diva.

Every morning I get up between 5:30 AM and 6 AM for her. She gets her little treat that I have to try and steal from her. This goes on for about ten minutes then, regardless of how hot or freezing cold it is, we take a little walk to the end of our court and back home. Then Ms. Diva gets up on her couch and goes back to sleep.
Around seven she’ll pop her head up and give me this, “why are you still here?” look and I head to the gym. I get back from the gym, she may or may not still be sleeping and we go for another little walk before I feed her.
Then I get ready for work. Yes, I work a regular job. Thankfully I work from home, and I was doing it before the pandemic. It lets me get things done around the house and tend to her royal highness, should she ever wake up from her mid day nap. At my lunch time she may or may not be in the mood to eat. My brother normally comes home around that time and takes over.
Now, I’m over simplifying it. When she eats, I have to pay attention to her. I literally have to watch her, and if I pick up my phone, she’ll stop eating till I put it down. We actually had to hand feed her till I realized the only reason she wouldn’t eat off a plate or bowl was because her dog tag hit them and scared her.
She has her routine, and if you mess with it, she gets PISSED. The same if you tell her you’re going to do something and don’t. I’m not talking right then and there, I’m talking it’s Monday, you tell her you’re going to take her on a drive on Friday, and you don’t. I am not joking.
She has figured out a way to tell time by my schedule and what’s on television. This is why I have to leave it on a Spanish channel while I’m working. She loves her Caso Cerrado and her telenovelas. She also knows what is supposed to happen when she hears certain people on the television.
Now remember how I told you earlier I have to try and steal her cookie? Yeah, that’s not just a morning thing. Just about anytime she is given a cookie, whether I am working or not, she will wait to eat that cookie till I try to steal that cookie. She loves the game more than the cookie itself.

So that is my life with my diva dog. She can’t read so she’ll know I called her a dog… at least I hope she can’t read. Given that she’s too smart for own good, I wouldn’t be surprised. If you think I’m kidding? Meet her. She doesn’t have a lot of personality. She has a lot of attitude. Oh, and remember, don’t let her hear you call her a dog.
